1. The seller
These terms apply to orders placed on livetranslationservice.com with livetranslationservice, Linaaes gate 2, 3970 Langesund, Norway, support@livetranslationservice.com, +47 35 96 78 52 ("we"). "You" means the person or business placing the order.
2. Services and orders
We sell translation, interpreting, transcription, subtitling, proofreading and website localisation as described on each service page. An order is binding when you complete checkout and we send a confirmation by email. Conference interpreting is quote-only; an agreement is made when you accept our written proposal.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include 25% MVA. Delivery costs, if any, are shown at checkout before you pay. The number of pages, words or minutes is confirmed when we receive your files. If it differs from your order, we write to you before starting, and you may accept the new price or cancel free of charge. Payment is made at checkout by card through our payment provider.
4. Sending files
You email your files to support@livetranslationservice.com quoting your order reference. Turnaround starts when we have all the files and have confirmed the scope. You confirm that you have the right to give us the material.
5. Delivery and turnaround
Turnaround times on the site are working days (Mon–Fri, excluding Norwegian public holidays). Written work is delivered by email, or as a posted copy or collection if you chose that. Interpreting is delivered live at the booked time. If we expect to be late, we tell you as soon as we know.
6. Quality and corrections
Every translation is reviewed by a second linguist. If an error in the delivered work is ours, we correct it free of charge once you tell us. Report errors within 30 days of delivery. We do not present our translations as statsautorisert or sworn translations. Whether a receiving authority accepts a translation is its own decision; we advise on this before you order, but we cannot guarantee acceptance.
7. Interpreting bookings
Interpreting is booked for a date, time and number of hours. You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. Within 24 hours of the start we charge 50% of the booked fee. If no one joins the session or is present at the venue and we were not told, we charge the full fee. We may replace an interpreter with another suitable interpreter. Interpreters interpret impartially and keep confidential what they hear. Where an interpreter cannot be provided, we tell you as soon as we know and refund the fee in full.
8. Cancellation and withdrawal
The refund policy sets out cancellation of orders, and the consumer's right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). It forms part of these terms.
9. Confidentiality and data
We treat your documents and everything we hear in interpreting as confidential and use them only for your order. We sign an NDA on request. Personal data is handled as described in the privacy policy.
10. Intellectual property
You keep the rights in your original material. When you have paid, you may use the translation for the purpose you ordered it. We keep terminology lists and glossaries we create for your account for your later orders.
11. Liability
We are liable for loss caused by our errors as the law provides. Between businesses, our liability for a single order is limited to the amount you paid for it, except for intent or gross negligence. We are not responsible for decisions that an authority, court or other party takes on the basis of a translation or interpreting session, or for delay caused by missing or unreadable files. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights as a consumer.
12. Complaints
Write to support@livetranslationservice.com with your order reference and describe the problem. We reply within five working days. Consumers may also contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or the Consumer Disputes Committee (Forbrukerklageutvalget).
13. Governing law and disputes
Norwegian law applies. Consumers may bring a dispute before the court that the law gives them. For business customers, disputes are settled by Telemark District Court (Telemark tingrett) as the first instance.
14. Changes
We may change these terms. The terms in force when you place an order apply to that order.
